Jur Vrieling and Naila v’t Merelsnest part ways

Jur Vrieling’s 10-year-old talented mare, Naila v’t Merelsnest is changing riders. The BWP mare owned by SF Equestrian will compete with a female rider in the future. “We won’t tell who it is yet, but once again a talented horse is leaving our stables,” manager Mounaim Dani says.

The BWP mare is a daughter of Kannan GFE and was trained internationally by Belgium’s Viktor Daem. In 2021, the duo still jumped to a top ranking at the Youngster Class of Opglabbeek.

In 2022, Kevin Jochems took over the reins. The combination was placed among others in the CSI Grand Prix of Lier in 2022. At the beginning of this year Jur Vrieling was the new rider for the mare. Together with the 10-year-old mare, Vrieling was placed in the 1.40m in Riesenbeck as well as in the EEF Nations Cup 1.40m class of Kronenberg.

The mare comes from the breeding farm of Walter van Bunder and Gerda Stoop and descends from the dam line of Sapphire. Naila also has two offspring with the 1.40m jumping Quizano VDL and the licensed stallion, Nearco Merelsnest VDL.
