After two days, Jur Vrieling was in the lead of the Dutch Championships Finals for Seniors. But on the final day, all cards were shifted as Vrieling couldn’t hold on to this leaderposition and in the top five.
At the last three combinations it became very exciting, no rider could afford a mistake in order to take home the victory. Maikel van der Vleuten was the one who took over Vrieling’s chances to become the winner, as he raised the bar with a clear round. For Jur, his fate was in his own hands now. If he stayed clear, he would become the new Dutch Champion of 2023. However, an early fault in the second round for Vrieling and Fiumicino van de Kalevallei, shattered their shot at the title. They landed eventually on a great fifth place.
